Works are to begin on the Toumba building

The “green light” for the completion of the unfinished since 2005 privately owned EYATH building in Toumba was given today, as the contract of the chosen contractor in the long-awaited project was signed.

The project execution deadline is set at twenty-four (24) months from the date of signing the contract with the contractor company, Solis S.A. The Toumba building, located at 99 Diagoras and Tyroloi streets, remained unused for 19 years, constituting a valuable but unexploited asset. Managing it in a way that makes it available and fully functional is a key part of EYATH’s corporate culture, which ensures the sustainability of the company itself and its infrastructure. The project has a budget cost of 5.2 million euros, with an option to add an additional floor.

“In a constantly evolving environment with open climate challenges, EYATH’s strategy focuses on improving the efficiency of its infrastructure and increasing its resilience against the consequences of the climate crisis. Preventive maintenance, focused upgrade interventions and ultimately the full and rational utilization of our infrastructure are part of this very philosophy of the company’s sustainable development,” emphasizes EYATH’s president, Agis Papadopoulos.

“EYATH, following the thorough renovation of its central office building on Egnatia 127 and consistent with its investment program, continues to invest in critical infrastructure, making the most of its assets. We are thus contributing to the consolidation of macroeconomic stability in the company, with substantial benefits for our employees, consumers and shareholders,” points out EYATH CEO Anthimos Amanatidis.

The building, located in the 4th Municipal District of Thessaloniki, was designed as a four-story building for EYATH’s laboratories and technical services, consisting of an eastern and western section – the latter also including the area’s water pumping station building. The eastern building has completed the load-bearing structure up to the roof of the mezzanine, while only part of the ground floor columns have been constructed on the western building. The completion of the building includes the utilization of the eastern section that has already been built with appropriate adaptations, so as to accommodate office spaces on the ground floor and the mezzanine, while the first semi-basement will be used for laboratory spaces and the second basement for parking spaces and a workshop – materials warehouse.
