The consumers water that runs through their taps comes under the microscope of EYATH, through the new, more detailed microsite of the company quality.eyath.gr on the quality of drinking water, with detailed information by region.
In particular, EYATH consumers throughout the Thessaloniki Urban Complex can now find monthly results reports for the measurements of physico-chemical, organic, organoleptic and microbiological parameters in their water, from samplings carried out daily in various parts of the city network. For each region separately, the history is also available, i.e. the variation of the measured parameters over time, while those interested have the possibility to search and save the reports of older results (in pdf). Notably, the price limits mentioned are based on KYA 3525/B’/25.5.2023 on the quality of water for human consumption.
All the aforementioned analyzes are carried out in the Water Treatment Plant Laboratory Department of EYATH, which has accreditation according to ISO 17025 by the National Accreditation System (ESYD) and the Official Scope of Accreditation (EPED) of the current certificate, no. . 1217 (more here). This field identifies all the known parameters of the legislation, but now also the newer ones, such as PFAs, estrogens and xenoestrogens in drinking water.
Citizens’ access to information on the quality indicators of drinking water is an obligation arising from the harmonization of our national legislation with Directive (EU) 2020/2184 regarding the quality of water for human consumption. The relevant information, in fact, should be updated and accessible online in a personalized and user-friendly way.
Water quality analyzes are done at the Water Treatment Facility Laboratory Department of EYATH, which has ISO 17025 accreditation from the National Accreditation System.
