The curtain of the World Congress of Geoinformatics for Infrastructure Management, which was recently organized in Frankfurt, was opened by EYATH taking on the role of keynote speaker in the field of water supply companies with cutting edge GIS technologies that it has implemented.
In particular, EYATH S.A. was invited to open the proceedings of the conference of water supply companies (Water Industry Keynote) represented by the head of the Department of Geoinformatics – Topography & Hydraulic Model Yiannis Kavouras, who presented the use of geoinformation systems at EYATH as a pillar of business intelligence. “The diffusion of these systems in the business operation through the integration and automation of the various processes and information systems that are in use, reduces response times and optimizes the services provided to the consumer”, pointed out Mr. Kavouras.
The digitization through GIS technologies of the water supply and sewerage services in EYATH now reaches 100%, while the interconnection with the entire customer service sector is in the final stage. With the use of Geographical Information Systems (GIS), for which EYATH has international recognition, the company has created a central digital “warehouse” of technical data (data warehouse), which embraces the water supply and sewage networks, their facilities, but also all the technical information that was scattered – and therefore unused – within the company. From this digital database, information is shared with employees for business, daily use through special applications. EYATH already provides GIS expertise within Greece (municipality of Naoussa, Chios), in Cyprus and in the context of collaborations with similar companies in SE Europe.
The World Congress on Geoinformatics for Infrastructure Management in Frankfurt was attended by a total of 1,000 delegates from 295 companies and organizations, representing 61 countries.
