The collaboration between EYATH and the Larnaca District Local Government Organization (EOAL)—focusing on GIS matters and, more broadly, the optimization of water supply and sewerage processes—is now taking concrete shape following the signing of an agreement between the two parties today at the company’s headquarters on Egnatia Street. The agreement, signed by EOAL President Angelos Chatzicharalambous and EYATH CEO Anthimos Amanatidis, provides for the transfer of know-how from EYATH to EOAL in the field of geoinformatics (GIS)—specifically regarding the operational areas of water and sewage network management (asset management), customer care, and business process optimization within water and wastewater management.
The project has a duration of 30 months and a budget of approximately €150,000 (excluding VAT). It is expected to reduce water and wastewater management costs for the Cypriot side, optimize service delivery to citizens, ensure more rational water and wastewater management, reduce the environmental footprint of related activities, and, finally, achieve more effective energy management of the water cycle. “We are now moving from the September memorandum of cooperation to the stage of a binding, actionable agreement, having already cultivated a dynamic framework for the transfer of know-how, the exchange of best practices, the utilization of innovative solutions, and the improvement of operational efficiency. At EYATH, we possess extensive experience and high-level technical expertise; it is both our responsibility and our pleasure to contribute to the dissemination of knowledge and to support organizations facing similar challenges, particularly amidst the climate crisis,” noted EYATH CEO Anthimos Amanatidis.
EOAL President Angelos Chatzicharalambous pointed out that “this agreement marks a milestone for the organization, as it contributes significantly to advancing its digital transition and technological upgrade. At the same time, it strengthens the integration of existing management platforms and the creation of a unified, reliable database, thereby enhancing the efficiency and resilience of the services provided.” “Finally, it lays the groundwork for establishing EOAL as a modern, effective, and dynamic organization,” he added. This followed the signing of an updated Memorandum of Cooperation with the Water Supply and Sewerage Organization of Larnaca (EOAL) in Cyprus during the 89th Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF), attended by P. Varelidis, Secretary General for Natural Environment and Water at the Ministry of Environment and Energy (YPEN).
EYATH S.A. possesses extensive experience and expertise in the integrated management of water supply and sewerage infrastructure using Geographic Information Systems (GIS), backed by over two decades of in-house experience in organizing, storing, and managing technical data. EYATH S.A.’s GIS was previously honored with the “Special Achievement in GIS Award” at the 2015 ESRI User Conference; it is being recognized again this year with the “Special Achievement in GIS Award” at the ESRI User Conference—selected from among hundreds of thousands of companies—thereby highlighting the company’s consistently pioneering infrastructure, implementation, and expertise in GIS technology.
