For second consecutive year, EYATH participated in events organized by the Chios Municipal Water Supply and Sewerage Company (DEYAX) to mark World Water Day 2026. This participation took place within the framework of their established collaboration regarding innovative GIS technologies and best practices for reducing energy costs.
Ioannis Tsitsopoulos, a member of the company’s Board of Directors, represented EYATH at the DEYAX event, which focused on water scarcity on the island and strategies to address it.
In his speech, titled “Innovation and Sustainable Development for the Benefit of Society, the example of EYATH S.A.” Mr. Tsitsopoulos, after outlining the company’s profile and its operational activities regarding sustainable development, he highlighted flagship projects across infrastructure, customer service, digital transformation, and partnerships (such as the repair and reinforcement of the Aravissos water pipeline, SCADA remote control systems, AI technologies for pipeline monitoring and modeling studies, “smart” water meters, and energy cost reduction via PPAs). As Mr. Tsitsopoulos noted, these projects provide EYATH with a significant competitive advantage and add value to the company’s management, which has placed sustainable development issues at the forefront. “At EYATH, we believe in, adopt, implement, invest in, and promote sustainable development—a cross-cutting EU policy. We are a company with a technical, economic, and strong social footprint that benefits citizens, and we demonstrate this daily through tangible and measurable work,” he remarked.
The DEYACH initiative was implemented in collaboration with the Institute for Sustainable Water Management and Water Law of the European Public Law Organization (EPLO).
