If the property owner does not designate the tenant as the liable party, the owner remains liable to EYATH S.A. and is responsible for monitoring the proper execution of the contract signed with the company.
According to Article 4, paragraph 2.6 of the Water Supply Regulation of EYATH S.A., “in cases where the party indicated as liable does not coincide with the user—whether owner or tenant—if the property is abandoned with unpaid EYATH S.A. bills, the owner automatically becomes responsible for settling them.”

For the period during which the debts were incurred, you present the following supporting documents (in the presence of the owner or another authorized person):

  • The E2 document of the tax office, where the rental period of the property, the full name and the VAT number of the tenant are displayed.
  • The lease contract from the AADE digital portal showing the acceptance date.
  • Lease cancellation from the AADE digital portal showing the acceptance date.
  • • Solemn declaration of Law 1599/1986, deemed to be the genuineness of the signature, in the K.E.P. or via gov.gr., with the following text:

«the lessee …………………………………………………… left the property on ……… (date) ……, on the street …………………………………. with Consumer Number ………………………………… on …………………. I will submit the E2s for the years I have not yet filed a tax return. In case of non-presentation of E2, the debts are borne by me as the owner.»

  • A recent photograph of the water meter, clearly showing both the consumption reading and the device serial number, in order to carry out the settlement of water cubic meters and the fixed charge.
  • Identity card of the owner (or the authorized person).
  • For individuals – Registry details of a natural person for proof of Tax Identification Number (AFM) from the AADE digital portal.
  • For companies – Certificate of current entity/business status with displayed activities from the AADE digital portal.

If there are other co-owners also required::

  • The E2 forms of the co-owners, showing the period of lease of the property, as well as the tenant’s full name and Tax Identification Number (AFM). (for the exemption).
  • The E9 forms of the co-owners, printed file issued within the last three months. (for the new contract).
  • Solemn declaration under Law 1599/1986, certified for the authenticity of the signature at a Citizens’ Service Center (K.E.P.) or via gov.gr, stating that they agree for the new contract to be made in the details of one party (for the new contract).

If the property was acquired through an auction on or after 16/09/2024, the following is additionally required:

  • Summary of the auction award report for auctions from 16/09/2024 onwards, for the exemption of debts encumbering the property up to that date.
  • The sale-purchase deed or E9 form (and those of the co-owners for the new contract).
  • A recent photograph of the water meter, clearly showing both the consumption reading and the device number, in order to carry out the calculation of water volume and the fixed charge.
  • Identity card of the owner (or of the authorized person).
  • For individuals – Registry details of a natural person for proof of Tax Identification Number (AFM) from the AADE digital portal.
  • For companies – Certificate of current entity/business status with displayed activities from the AADE digital portal.
