Before submitting the request.
When the property owner does not make their tenant liable, then the owner remains liable to EYATH S.A. themselves and is obliged to monitor the smooth progression of the contract signed with the company. According to Article 4 par. 2.6. of the Water Supply Regulations of EYATH S.A.:
“For water supply connections where the declared liable party does not match the user, whether the user is the owner or tenant, in case of abandonment of the property with unpaid bills to EYATH S.A., the owner automatically becomes responsible for settling them.”
Who can submit the request.
A request for discharge of water supply debts can only be submitted by the owner(s) holding a total ownership percentage of at least 51%, provided that one of the following conditions applies:
- The water supply was registered under the tenant’s details and an active electronic lease agreement (Taxisnet) existed for the period under review.
- The property was acquired through auction on or after 16/09/2024.
Upon completion of the discharge, the owner must submit a request either for Termination of Water Supply or for a New Contract, exclusively under their own details.
That is, the process is completed in two consecutive stages:
- Initial examination of the debt discharge request &
- Submission of a request for Termination of Water Supply or a New Contract, depending on the owner’s choice.
