MoU with Larnaca for GIS – energy

The provision of technical services by EYATH S.A. to the Larnaca Sewerage Board (SAL) of Cyprus, both at the level of consultation and at the level of implementation, is provided at a memorandum of cooperation that was recently signed between the two sides, at the headquarters of EYATH.

The collaboration, implemented by, EYATH Services S.A., will mainly concern Geographical Information Systems (GIS), smart water meters, surface water quality, as well as energy saving issues in the SAL facilities.

At the same time, the two sides agreed to exchange know-how in the design and implementation of energy and environmental upgrading projects, to achieve goals that include optimizing the performance of facilities, improving the quality of treated wastewater, utilizing dewatered sludge and using treated of wastewater for irrigation of agricultural lands, in the context of the circular economy.

“This memorandum of cooperation comes as a continuation of our recent trip to Cyprus, where we had important contacts with governmental and self-governing factors. Our long-term experience and know-how in matters of water supply and drainage makes EYATH a body of innovation and research in these matters in the wider region, with the aim of sustainable management of the water supply and the provision of optimal services to the end user”, pointed out the president of EYATH, Agis Papadopoulos.

“EYATH has long-term in-house experience and know-how in network management, much more in their integrated management through information systems. With the cooperation memorandum we signed, we aim to provide technical and scientific guidance to the Larnaca Sewerage Board in various individual projects, so that it can manage in the best possible way the financial and human resources it has, while ensuring a long-term return on its investments”, emphasized managing director of EYATH, Anthimos Amanatidis.

The Larnaca Sewerage Board serves about 90,000 consumers and is in the process of developing its functions in terms of network management, facility operation and digitization of its activities. Through external collaborations, such as the one with EYATH, it aims to reduce its operating expenses, increase revenues and ultimately optimize the services provided to the final consumer. The Memorandum of Cooperation was signed on behalf of SAL by its president, Andreas Vyras, in the presence of the Consul General of Cyprus in Thessaloniki, Konstantinou Polykarpou.
