The perspectives, developments and energy upgrading of the existing building infrastructure were put on the table of the 7th Prodexpo North, the most important meeting for real estate in Northern Greece.
At the conference, which was opened by the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Christos Staikouras, the investments in important projects implemented in Central Macedonia were also presented, as well as those that are expected to start creating multiplier benefits and attracting new investments, both from Greeks and from foreigners in the wider area of Thessaloniki.
The president of EYATH SA, Professor Agis Papadopoulos, participated in the panel on the energy upgrade possibilities of the existing building infrastructure, the available tools, costs and risks (Energy Upgrade of Existing Buildings: Tools, Costs, and Risks). who took the opportunity to mention the new bioclimatic building of EYATH, at Egnatia 127 St., which was rebuilt from the ground up in just two years.
Mr. Papadopoulos, professor of Energy Systems at AUTH, also spoke about the country’s aging building stock in general, stressing that the need to renovate buildings is now imperative, not only to improve their energy efficiency but also to strengthen earthquake resistance and adapting their functionality to modern requirements. “We have to invest in the buildings. By rebuilding them, we strengthen their life cycle”, said the president of EYATH.
