EYATH SA resumes cleaning of Dendropotamos stream at its own expense to safeguard public health in case of an emergency flood event, following the negligence of the Regional Services Officer.
The clean- up work, which will continue alongside the EYATH central pumping station up to the point of the estuary of the stream, will take two months. They had begun last November, but were interrupted in order to find a suitable dumpsite for haulage, rubbish, waste and other waste away from the site. The contract, (signed on July 11th, 2018, Board Decision 313 / 28-06-2018) of 300,000 euros, relates to approximately 16,000 tons of waste.
