Specialized anesthesia equipment, necessary for the intubation of patients with COVID-19, was donated by EYATH in the context of corporate social responsibility at the University General Hospital AHEPA.
It is a video laryngoscopy system, which provides safety conditions for hospital staff by allowing intubation from a distance. “The health crisis has set new priorities in our corporate responsibility program. Wanting to strengthen the national health system in a targeted way, we responded immediately to the hospital’s request to purchase special equipment against the pandemic. All this time, moreover, we are facilitating financially vulnerable groups of our population, so that they have a continuous supply of water for the benefit of public health “, pointed out the CEO of EYATH SA, Anthimos Amanatidis.
At the same time, the Board of Directors of EYATH decided to financially support the interdisciplinary team of AUTh that carries out the analysis of the samples of wastewater from biological treatment. “The systematic monitoring of the genome of the virus in sewage by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in collaboration with EYATH, is a project of very important scientific interest, but also of great health importance. It is our way to support the Greek State in making critical decisions regarding the spread of the pandemic “, pointed out the chairman of EYATH, Agis Papadopoulos. “With our help, necessary laboratory consumables will be procured, such as reagents, samplers, sample containers, and the necessary equipment will be purchased, for example, stirrers, which are damaged and contaminated by sewage,” said Mr. Papadopoulos.
In addition to the pandemic, the corporate social responsibility program of EYATH recently included an extraordinary donation for the purchase of water or other basic goods for the flood victims of Karditsa, at the request of the Regional Union of Municipalities of Central Macedonia.
